My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I adored this book, without a doubt. At least the basic plotline the book followed. Then why, you may ask, did I only give it 3 stars? Because it devolved into environmentalism preaching. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of taking care of the environment when we can, but this book preached at me at times.
Now, the good: I loved the truth about what/who Mia (the mysterious voice in the priest’s head) was and WHY she was contacting him. I liked the interplay of good versus evil as it played out through Beck and what was driving him toward the end. The idea of the exodus going on was…mind blowing. I loved that the players could actually do what they’re doing.
The bad: I’ve already covered that and I can’t go into more details without spoiling it.
Still, I’d probably check out a sequel if one were written.
