Today is May 1, which means Breanda Novak’s incredible auction, in which all proceeds are donated to the search for a cure for diabetes, has begun.
I admit, I can never afford anything I’ve ever been interested in at the prices things go for. It’s all for a good cause and the bidding can be CRAZY!
This year, however, is special for me for many reasons.
1) My mom was a long-term diabetic who didn’t control it for too many years, and the collection of problems it caused ultimately contributed to her passing last October.
2) My brother is diabetic, though he does really well at controlling it.
3) As a published author, this year I was able to do my part. I might not be able to afford the auction as a buyer, but I am donating a 100-page critique of a manuscript to one lucky bidder.
If you have the money, and want to give to a really spectacular cause, please check out the Brenda Novak Auction! Here’s the link to the critique I’ve donated (yes, I know they misspelled my name). Good luck, no matter what you bid on! To quote The Hunger Games, may the odds be ever in your favor. 🙂
